image.jpg

The New You Plan is a total meal replacement diet which can give mind-blowingly quick results. Stick to it and you WILL lose weight, it would be impossible to not, as long as you stay on Santa's Nice List and don't break the rules.

I tried the plan right here on my blog for a few weeks back in August/September. Along with four of the New You products a day, you can drink their broth or fruit powders for water, as the other secret is tonnes of fluid.

I loved their cottage pie meal and the coconut bars, as well as the fat burning pineapple dilute.

image.jpg
image.jpg

I went from 10st 3lbs to 9st over those two months, with New You being the kick start I need to get to a size I was more comfortable with.

image.jpg

I have to add a disclaimer that these results aren't guarenteed, but a visit to the Secret Slimmers' Facebook Page shows you lots of other men and women with great results.

image.jpg

So, maybe you read my diaries on the plan a few months ago, or perhaps you have losing weight as a goal for 2016, but whatever piqued your interest you can't deny this is a flipping good deal.

New customers can get a  COMPLETELY FREE 3 day detox trial of the New You Plan. No other purchase necessary, but stock is limited so get in there quick and apply for one.

The only cost you will incur is that of postage which is £3.99 Saying that, New You use a courier which means any package I've ordered arrives the very next day with me.

As well as a range of their different types of meal replacement products, you also get a Christmas themed wall chart to mark your meals off and tally your weight and water intake.

Its worth £33/€43 and once they are gone, they are gone. So even if you are getting it to try in January, you need to order it NOW.

image.jpg

Good luck everyone, I hope you read this soon enough to get one. If you do start the plan and do the 3 days, gimme a poke on Twitter @rudedoodle, and let me know how you get on. Ditto if you have any questions before applying for the free trial, or before you begin with it.

It's recommended that you speak to your GP before beginning a VLCD- a very low calorie diet, which New You is. It's recommended for adults with a BMI above 25.

WIN a 3 Day Trial of The New You Plan. Will It Be Your Weight Loss Wonder?

image.jpg

If you read my blog regularly you'll have seen my trial week of the total food replacement diet,  The New You Plan. It's the brain child of a local Northern Irish woman, Julie-Ann, who has built up the brand from scratch. There are other total food replacement diets out there, but the key to New You is the Secret Slimmers Facebook Page, made up of hundreds of customers sharing their highs & lows, successes & slip ups. The support you get from it is priceless, and talking to women who have lost 3 or 4 stone on th plan motivates you to stick with it.

image.jpg

I've put together a prize pack from products I've bought from them myself, but I really want to give someone else a chance to try the diet plan themselves, so I've boxed a three day supply of products. New You Plan have supplied a tshirt and mixer bottle for the shakes for the winner also. They also will give you access to the private Secret Slimmers group.

image.jpg
image.jpg

My own weight loss is going well, I was 9st 12 about six weeks ago, and I'm 9st 3 now. This was partially done with New You. It was the kick start I needed.

Should you want to go ahead and place an order yourself in the meantime, there are some excellent bundle discounts at the moment.

Wednesday Round-up: Drop a Jean Size 3/4 Mark, New Revolution Make-up & Readers, Can You Help Recommend Me a Hair Product for Crazy Frizz?

I started my drop a jean size challenge last Monday, with the intentions of sticking to The New You Plan diet a bit longer (see here for their drop a jean size journal should you want to do the same).

M&S Feta & Olive Side Salad : Lidl Salmon with Dill Dressing

M&S Feta & Olive Side Salad : Lidl Salmon with Dill Dressing

I've lots going on at the moment, real life important stuff, so I'm not in the headspace to stick to New You 100%. When you are paying for a special diet, there isn't much point doing it by halves, you waste time and money, so I've bowed out of their Secret Slimmers' Facebook support group for now, but I promise I will be back!

I was 9 days into my drop a jean size, which finishes this coming Monday, and I think I can still do it. I'm definitely shrinking and even though I tried that M&S pizza last night to review it, I only had one slice and a big salad.

Lunch today is smoked salmon and dill from Lidl with salad. There's feta in the salad so it isn't mega healthy, but it could be worse. I'll let you know if I can fit my size 12 M&S boot cut jeans on Monday then!

image.jpg

You saw my post yesterday about the giant Revolution 100 shade, £12 eyeshadow palette. It's class and my shadow I used today is a shimmery nude, a cream light brown and a glittery dark brown. I've been trying out different brushes, and got a Revolution blending brush to try to get the effect below. I still need some practice, don't I??

image.jpg

I also got the Revolution Kajal eyeliner crayon which I've owned before, despite my makeup immaturity! My Ballyholme friend Arlene has posted me one of these a couple of years ago, and I found I was able to apply it easily to my lower eyeliner waterline with ease. It's huge crayoness with soft texture, combined with its £2 price tags makes it a good eyeliner for novices or wobbly handed girlies like I was/am!

It doesn't claim to be waterproof, but it does say smudge proof and it's never let me down, or bled down into my wrinkles.

image.jpg

I also got a trio of Revolution Amazing Lipsticks that Superdrug didn't have in stock. I need to try them on properly to see which ones work. Under lightbulb lighting, late last night, the darkest one looked a little bit too gothy, but I'll show you soon.

image.jpg

Lastly, a shout out to my readers, I need some help. I have very thick, long hair, which has been treated with bleach to achieve a lighter effect at the ends. I use John Frieda cream serum, as the oily one I don't like, plus a balm type serum of the same range that I apply AFTER the hair is dry too. I use a good quality shampoo and use Aussie 3 Min Miracle Conditioner on my hair EVERY DAY when I wash it. I also straighten it with GHDs. But it's STILL frizzy.

Has anyone any secret products they can recommend? Is Mane & Tail worth the price tag? Talk to me on @rudedoodle on Twitter or Instagram and help me out!

The Big Monday Morning Round-up: Clarins Double Serum, Lidl Fashion, & Drop a Jean Size Challenge Midpoint Check-in

I've follow up news on three different topics I've blogged about before, so I'm combining them in one big Monday morning round-up.

image.jpg

I blogged a few days ago that I was trying  Clarins Double Serum which is the UK's leading serum product with a string of awards to its name.

Its a unique oil AND water product, and Clarins have found a combination so they work together rather than separating as those elements usually would. You can see the bottle above is split in two, oil on one side, water based serum on the other. When you pump to dispense both come out and you combine them before applying to your face.

image.jpg

I was given a few samples at the House of Fraser 'Beauty Confidential' event, where you can currently pick up Double Serum for £59, saving £10 on their regular price.

I have tried all my samples, one each night and truthfully I haven't noticed much of a difference from my usual Boots No.7 serum. The Clarins rep said that to really get a good idea of the product you need a week's worth of samples, but by the time I reached that concession after my Laura Mercier makeover, they were almost all gone. So perhaps that's why I didn't notice any different YET, I only had four nights' samples.

Also I thought the samples themselves were a little small. I realise it's an expensive product, so samples will be costly to give out for free, but I found it tricky to get any of the water based side of the serum out of the sachet at all.

image.jpg

I do want to give Clarins Double Serum another try though. The lady representing them said they get sample sizes in every few weeks, so I will try to see if I can get a seven day supply of samples when I'm up again.

I'm keen to visit House of Fraser while the Beauty Confidential offer is still running, as the other product they showed us, Instant Smooth, is also £10 off at only £16.50

This stuff is magical. It was their innovative product they shared with us during the talk that night, and what it can do has to be seen to be believed.

Rubbing a tiny amount on the palm of your hand, then comparing to your other one, will show you just how effective Instant Smooth is. Wrinkles and lines are filled in and simply disappear. I had never seen anything like it.

Of course the effect is temporary, once you take off your makeup at the end of the day your wrinkles are back- but it's a cheaper and less drastic measure than injected fillers.

So, who managed to get something wonderful from the range of Lidl Fashion that arrived in stores last Thursday?

image.jpg

I was thrilled to find the striped t-shirt I had wanted at the press event, at only £5.99 in my local Bangor store. I couldn't find the panelled leather look leggings, but I've a feeling they said those will be in store in November.

image.jpg

Finally, I'm one week into my drop a jean size challenge. My weight is inching down, and those size 12 jeans are looking more like they will fit every day. In fact I was able to buy size 12 leather-look leggings yesterday in Exhibit.

The New You site has lots of new bundle offers in time for slimming down for Christmas, if you fancy joining me.

Drop A Jeans Size in a Fortnight Challenge Day Three Check In

My order of tonnes of meal bars & oatmeal and porridge arrived yesterday at tea time. I've this New You Plan thing licked this time around. I've explained before all the variations of products, but I've narrowed it down to exactly what I want out of it.

image.jpg

I ordered five oatmeals and five apple & cinnamon porridges for the morning. These taste great. I especially like the original oatmeal, I thought it might be bland, but it's sweetened. I made it up with a little too much water, but I devised a fix for it. I microwaved for 60 seconds, stirred, another 60 seconds, but it was still watery. I tried leaving it for half an hour planning to return and blast it too again, but by that time it has thickened up itself, so 30 seconds did the job and I saved my oatmeal.

You can also use the oatmeal to make sweet nibbles  by following one of slimmer Dawn' recipes and mixing in some chocolate shake powder. I made the crisps using soup powder as she suggests and it worked!

image.jpg

The meal replacement bars are my other items for the day. I'm allowed three of them to take me to the four New You Products a day and 100% RDA of vitamins and minerals. Please, please take note- New You recommend you only eat ONE bar a day, due to their mild laxative effect. However this doesn't seem to creat a problem for me, so I've tailored the diet for taste.

image.jpg

I also have a huge backup of low calorie meals, the majority being my favourite, their Cottage pie. I also have the spicy noodles, carbonara and everything else each craving could be covered with.

image.jpg

Now this little tub is my secret weapon. I ordered the three for two, and I'm glad I did as I used a whole jar in five days! The New You Broth is a water flavouring which you can enjoy in unlimited amounts. It's really tasty and I pretty much have a mug on the go constantly through the day: it helps you feel full up and not craving savoury.

So three days in, three pounds down already, waiting for a delivery of wafer snacks to arrive today. I Will be comfortable in these jeans in a fortnight. They can be zipped up already but are too snug.

*always consult your GP before starting a very low calorie diet. Results vary*

The Two Week Drop a Jeans Size Challenge- Will Anyone Join Me?

image.jpg

Well it only took a week and I'm completely addicted to The New You Plan. I'm 'off plan' this weekend as I have some other food products to review, and Yogland NI to visit later today or tomorrow, but even then I've had two cups of their broth & one of their coconut meal bars today anyway.

On Monday I plan to begin a stint of their program for two weeks as part of their drop a jean size challenge. I bought a New You product bundle with four products for each day. You can have any four items you like, but they advise only one meal replacement bar a day due to their mild laxative effect if you had more than that.

I didn't really get into which of the products I liked and which I didn't last week, so I'll run down the choices and what I thought of them now. It works out at just under £5 a day which I find quite reasonable as remember that you don't have to buy anything else like veg to bulk anything up.

Raspberry & chocolate orange flavours coming soon- will definitely need to try both as mousse

Raspberry & chocolate orange flavours coming soon- will definitely need to try both as mousse

Shakes count as one of your four products a day. Because I prefer to 'eat' my products than drink them as shakes or soup, I always make shakes into either lollies with a freezer mould, or mousse, by whizzing the powder in with a smaller amount of water and letting it set in the fridge.

The flavours are banana (I avoid as I don't like banana anything), vanilla (makes a Mily Bar Button tasting mousse), chocolate (you can mix with coffee granules and heat to make a choco-latte), strawberry, hazelnut (I didn't like it) and mint chocolate (my favourite).

image.jpg

Soups next.  I used a Secret Slimmers Facebook Page hint and made my soup mixture into little crisps last week. Again that's because I want to eat my four products rather than be drinking one as soup. For that I'm guessing the chicken soup is the best, but I will try them with the vegetable and mushroom packs I have in this coming week. There is also a new flavour out, asparagus, which I'm yet to try.

image.jpg

The very low calorie meal section hold your next decisions.  There are a couple of products that I would deem as 'breakfast items'. I've ordered five oatmeals and five apple & cinnamon porridges to start my day with on the school days. These both are made very easily with boiling water and taste like regular Oats So Simple.

The other two breakfast products are Maple Pancakes and omelette. I have both to try still so I will probably use them next weekend and let you know then how I get on.

image.jpg

The other meals are more suited to lunch and dinner. The Spicy Noodle Nosh & Chicken Noodle Curry are quite similar. The vegetable Chilli, carbonara and pasta broccoli all are great. They can take a bit of practice making up, and there is advice on presoaking and how best to cook the meals on the Facebook Page. The newest product is vegetable risotto, which I didn't order because I don't like risotto anyway!

The meal product that did it for me was the cottage pie. I found it the biggest serving, tastiest and easiest to cook and get right. I'll be almost living off it as I ordered so many! Big thumbs up.

Cookie Cream

Cookie Cream

Meal replacement bars. These I love. Handy for quick breakfast, or to save as your final product of the day for some after dinner chocolate. My favourites are the Chocolate Cream Cookie, Hazelnut, Lemon and the new Coconut Bar. I could eat the coconut bar for every meal it's so tasty. There are also choices such as maple fruits, chocolate truffle and strawberry cereal.

Coconut bar

Coconut bar

You can buy a bundle with just the straight four products a day, or you can add snacks which are ketosis friendly and recommended not to exceed two or three a week.

image.jpg

Packs of crisps in BBQ, Salt and Vinegar or Onion soya chips. They are surprisingly big bags too.

image.jpg

The other snack options are packs of wafers in several varieties, apple & cinnamon biscuits, chocolate mousse, hot chocolate, or BBQ nuts.

image.jpg

The New You Plan means drinking a lot of water daily, between two and four litres. If you need a bit of help then there are water flavourings which you can use unlimited. Not just the cold drinks, but also a broth. I am totally addicted to this broth already. It's just like cup a soup, and with the days getting colder it's the ideal product to see you satisfied between meals.

image.jpg

The final product I want to mention is the pineapple fat burner. These come in little sticks of powder that you mix with 250ml of water. Some people find they make them a bit hyper, so I've always stuck to mine first thing in the morning. I mix two in a 500ml bottle of icy water and drink it while I'm getting ready for the school run.

image.jpg

So, is anyone interested in joining me? If you use the referral code VdxfiJV2 then I can get money off my own next order, so please use that if you do make a purchase. Thank you to whoever read and used my code so far!

I'm looking forward to starting on Monday and taking another step closer to my goal weight and size.

Day Seven : The New You Plan : Does It Work?

It's day seven, I've completed the week. So, has it been worth it, and what is my over all opinion on the plan?

image.jpg

My starting weight was 9st 9.6lbs, and my finishing weight is 9st 6.4lbs, so I've lost 3 lbs. to be honest I expected more of a loss than that, as most people seem to have an initial loss of between 7-14lbs just in the first week. My result could be lower for a number of reasons however.

Firstly my BMI to begin was 23 (it's now 22), and the higher your BMI the bigger the loss you are likely to get when you start a diet.

Secondly, when I was speaking to my friend Adam, who is a personal trainer, he said it could be that my body is properly hydrated for the first time, and that can add a little weight. Before I began the New You Plan I was lucky if I drank one litre of water a day, never mind the three to four I've been putting away daily the past seven days. So I could go back to drinking my normal tiny amount and probably see another 3 lbs come off overnight, but that wouldn't be a realistic reading, and long term you lose weight more easily if you stay hydrated, so I'm still going to keep pushing the water intake.

So my scale reading wasn't quite as great as I expected, but I do wish I had taken measurements last week, as I'm quite sure my clothes are a good bit looser already. I put on my Asos leopard print coat this morning for the first time this autumn and its a size too big now! It feels like someone else's coat! So even though my stats might not show tonnes of weight loss, I'm positive that it is happening, and that gives me incentive to continue.

Continuing! The next subject to tackle! I have ordered a lot more product this past week, so I have enough to carry on for at least another fortnight. With The New You Plan, you get into a state of ketosis after three to four days, so you can't just have a couple of days off plan without having to start over again almost. There is a lot of information on their site however, of how to taper off or maintain.

Personally I'm going to take a day's break from the plan tomorrow, but still eat as low carb as I can, and hopefully not knock myself out of ketosis, but it's a chance I have to take.

image.jpg

The New You Plan is tough. I'm not going to pussyfoot around it and say it's not. Sticking to just the four products a day isn't doable for everyone. You have to be completely committed to wanting to lose the weight, and not cheat. Saying that, if you serious about it and stick to plan, there are tonnes of other people there to cheer you on in the Secret Slimmers Facebook Page. I've never been part of such a useful, encouraging online group before. There is always someone there to help you if you're struggling with the plan.

So the plan is tough, but you will get results. It works, it's as simple as that. But how well it works depends on you and your willpower to stick to it.

So carrying on into next week, what's my plan? I am going to get back into four products a day from Saturday, and see how I go. I AM losing weight, so I'm encouraged to keep going. I think The New You Plan will work great with my daily lifestyle now Michael is at school all day. I might not stick to it 100%, I may have days where I have five products, or a day where I have a Subway salad as one of the meals, but I am going to use The New You Plan to get to my goal weight of 8 stone 3lbs, because I'm confident it will work for me.

image.jpg

So have you been tempted to start your own weight loss journey from reading my blogs this week? There are lots of meal bundles to choose from to get you started, and if you enter the code VdxfiJV2 then you can help me get points towards my future purchases, so I'd appreciate it if you could! Remember this plan works best for people with a BMI over 25, and you should speak to your GP before beginning a low calorie diet. Thank you so much to The New You Plan for this trial week, I think the ultimate seal of approval is the fact I've ordered another two weeks' worth of products. Onwards to my goal!

Day Six of The New You Plan - Let There Be Broth

image.jpg

Day six begins with a confession. I had a little blip last night. My parents and son had Dominos Two for Tuesday, which I went to pick up, and sat watching them eat with my total food replacement cookies and cream bar.  Torture.

I managed to resist the pizza however! The blip occurred when we got home. I had an extra product, making yesterday a five product day, not the set four. I placed an order for snacks and the broth, so that should arrive today. That means if I feel the need to have a fifth item any other day, I'll have them to choose from. You can have two or three of the ketosis friendly snacks in a week. There are crisps, nuts, wafers and chocolate mousse to choose from.

My plan was to just have three products today, to balance out my slip up last night, but when I shared it with the Secret Slimmers Facebook group, they told me nope, I have to stick to four. I hadn't thought about it, but it's all to do with your RDA of vitamins and nutrients. The New Plan products are all specially prepared to give you 100% of what you need in a day, just in a very low calorie package. So if I only had three products today I wouldn't be getting my 100% RDA of everything, and they want to make sure you stay healthy. So I've just had a lemon bar, frozen cause they last longer that way.

Lunch will be vegetable chilli, dinner my favourite meal their cottage pie, and I've a vanilla shake made up with a smaller amount of water so it's like a Milky Bar Buttons tasting mousse.

4:30pm My delivery arrived with my products to carry on the next couple of weeks. My plan is to not be just as intensive, but to eat a carb free meal once a day and have two New You Plan products for the other two meals. I've also ordered lots of their ketosis friendly snacks, so the weight will keep coming off even on a less strict version of the diet.

image.jpg

My most exciting product to arrive however is their savoury broth. It's unlimited, you can drink as much of it as you want each day, and I've had three cups already! It's like a vegetable cup a soup Flavour, which I've added a lot of pepper to. It's absolutely delicious. I've already realised even when I'm not on the New You Plan I'll still have to order a supply of it, and the coconut meal bars!

I can't believe tomorrow is day seven. I'll tell you tomorrow my plans to carry on with The New You, and on Friday I'll let you know what my weight loss has been. I'm scared about that as I've checked and I'm not dropping as much as most people report to In their first week. I do have the factor that my BMI was already 23 when I started to take into consideration however. Well, we shall see on Friday if my hard work has paid off!

* consult your GP before embarking on a low calorie diet. Results vary from person to person. My first week's products have been supplied for review purposes*
