Horse Head Sculpture Using Real HorseShoe Nails by Audrey Smyth

My parents in law are both full-time, mega talented artists. I don't feature their work very often, as it isn't really kitsch, but I just spotted this on my Mother-in-Law's Facebook wall.

Audrey has been working with ceramics the past two years & has drawn inspiration from her love of everything equestrian.

Here she has used her own horse Sox's old horseshoe nails to represent a mane plaited for dressage.

Stunning stuff, and I don't just say that because I'm married to their son!

Whimsical 1960s' Illustration Prints by Alain Grée via Anorak Magazine

I shared with you a week or two back Anorak the 'happy mag for kids'. Packed with vintage style illustrations & magical comic book story telling for the under tens.

This week they have launched an exclusive range of prints, the work of legendary French illustrator Alain Grée. Priced at only £10, there are currently two images to choose from, 'Elves in the Forest' & 'My Happy House'.
Further prints will be released later this month, I can't wait to see them.

The World of Kitsch LOVES Dirty Ruby from Argento

When the wonderfully eclectic jewellery retailer Argento asked me to put together a 'stylist's pick' from their beautiful online range, I was immediately drawn straight to their new indie range Dirty Ruby. Can I just pick the whole range as my stylist pick?

The Dirty Ruby Roses Collection is a smoking hot collection of ice cream coloured roses in a range of juxtaposing colours and sizes. You can layer them up for eye popping style or stick to one colour theme with a full set of necklace, bracelet earrings and rings starting from just £7.50

They've pretty much got your festival season accessories sorted.

I picked the mint rose ring, which is perfect with the pistachio nail polishes in the stores this spring.

I also went for the dainty peach and lemon rose bud necklace. I think it would be lovely for a summer wedding outfit, if you aren't into wearing silver or gold.

These are just the tip of the pastel rainbow iceberg! Visit www.Argento.co.uk to peruse the whole range.

Argento have also embraced the wonders of social media, you can join their Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ArgentoJewellery
Or why not let them know your favourite Dirty Ruby piece on their Twitter @_Argento ?
