Tiny Me have taken the hand cramp out of writing dozens of birthday party invitations for me this year. I featured their smartly designed school name tag labels two years ago, and the illustrations to choose from are similarly crisp, clean and professional.

There are dozens of templates to choose from, boys', girls' or unisex, as well as options to include your own photograph within the design.

Once you choose the perfect template, you then have a choice of colour swatches to pick, to further customise the invitation.

Invites are sold in packs of eight, with the option to add envelopes and/or magnets to your order for a little more. They really do look smart and you can avoid the hand cramp of writing out the party address and RSVP telephone number a dozen times.

Birthday Express is the US-based site I used to get all the Aquabats party decorations for my son's sixth birthday. They literally have hundreds of party themes based on cartoons, films, sports etc. and right now there are savings to be had. It's my son's birthday next week, and this year he wanted an Aquabats themed party. Aquabats is an American kids' show that airs on CITV, but there is absolutely no merchandise available in the UK yet, let alone party supplies. 

We turned to Snapsterprint where you can create your own party banners and invites using images of your choice. This could also be photographs of your child, or images of their favourite toy. It makes for a very special and unique party theme, and the website makes it so easy to design the pieces, even for someone like me who isn't skilled in Photoshop.   

We absolutely loved the results. The invites can be tailored with the party details, but when we ordered them we weren't 100% sure of party times etc. so we had them printed blank. 

I wish I'd known of Snapsterprint years before this. My son was totally obsessed with hoovers as a toddler and I would have loved to have seen his face if we threw a vacuum cleaner themed birthday! One of his favourite birthday cakes was a specially made Henry Hoover one! I'm sure we will be back to Snapsterprint next October too for whichever obscure party theme he will request for turning seven.
