Handcrafted Wooden Cuckoo Clocks & Figurines from Italy's Demetz Patrick, Because Every Family Should Have an Heirloom.
/Today's blog post brings you a website I'm confident you've never stumbled upon before. www.Demetz-Patrick.com is an Italian based studio of highly skilled wood carvers. They not only produce cuckoo clocks, but statues, chess pieces and bespoke commissions, all created from scratch.
The cuckoo clock's struck a special chord with me. My first conscious kitsch purchase when I had my first flat was a bright pink, plastic cuckoo clock. When The World of Kitsch started to get popular, I celebrated by buying a very modern black, metal cuckoo clock. My Gran owned one of these type, the classic, highly detailed wooden version. I think that's what I would ultimately love to own. I wish I'd inherited her's, as they make fabulous heirlooms to pass down through the generations due to their worth. A handmade clock is even more valuable, and will intrigue children and grandads alike.

/Lidl isn't just a grocery shop that sells discount, European food. It's also the equivalent of a kid in a toy shop for me. Why? Because I love trying food products I haven't tried before, and besides selling brands you do know at low prices, Lidl also imports European ingredient and dishes you don't get in the big, main supermarkets.

Paper Lampshades, Serious Nostalgia
/When I was little I had a paper lampshade of a hot air balloon. I can still picture it, blue with a rainbow on the side. This Spaceboy paper lampshade from DotCom Gift Shop seems to be a hit with my son. We've put it up in his room and the verdict is, "that's sooooo cool".
