My First US Candy Haul, Thanks Dan Lacey!

My first package arrived from my candy-swap penpal, Dan Lacey Painter of Pancakes.

I've already had to give up the sweetie watch to my son, but the rest is for me!
It's from The Mall of America too!

In case you are wondering, I sent Dan Fry's Turkish Delight, a Caramac, Kinder Bueno, Cadbury's Dairy Milk & something else, can't remember, posted two weeks back. Made me realise that our confectionary is more chocolate based than our American chums. Must be a European thing.

Zingy Lime Kitchen Time

Much as I would love a huge, lilac Smeg fridge and a gorgeous, retro mint green kitchen, money is tight and any home makeovers have to be thrifty these days.


A good way to shake things up in your living space is to invest in some bright new cushions (Matalan are great for these), or a nice new rug. A lot easier than repainting the walls. Plus, if you're anything like me & my DIY disasters, your other half will be less annoyed by the appearance of a neon pink rug, than a Miss Piggy 'inspired' feature wall.


The kitchen can benefit from a quick makeover by shopping for a brightly coloured toaster and kettle. 'White goods' need not be so plain.


Check out these zingy lime bits & bobs, including this gadgety wonder from Trudeau, a 2-in-1 salt & pepper grinder. I was sent one to test out & it's cute as a button. It comes in red & black too, but the lime is definitely the kitschiest. It's a neat little thing & I'm actually going to keep our's in the living room for emergency seasoning sessions for those tv dinners.
