Lily Pink Bakery, Belfast- Not Just Cakes, Works of Art

I'm lucky to know several really amazing bakers who create beautiful, delicious cakes for their family & friends' celebrations. 

One of the absolute best who has gone professional with her talent is Claire from  Lily Pink Bakery. You may have ooh'ed and ahh'ed over Claire's cupcakes at St George's Market, but now if you want a slice of the action you can order directly from her website.

I can't bake. Anything dessert orientated I muck up with surprisingly consistent success. When birthdays roll around I always turn to one of my friends to make a cake, rather than struggle myself. Luckily I have some very talented baking friends. 

One particular pal, Kirsten, launched her own business last autumn, Just Like Heaven, making cakes for all occasions. Kirsten kindly made me this Parma Violet infused cake, with coconut meringues, and I can tell you it was delicious.

28 Beetlejuice Themed Birthday & Wedding Cakes

Some of these creations simply use action figures as cake toppers and employ the black & white Tim Burton standard, striped, colour scheme. Some, like the waiting room cakes shown first, are just works of art in themselves.
