Tesco Magazine Sent Us on A Great Family Road Trip

At the beginning of the summer, Tesco Magazine asked me to take my family on a Great Family Roadtrip, a campaign they are promoting all summer to encourage families to explore their surroundings, and further afield.

I already shared with you here our stay in the Bushmills Inn, but you can read my blog for Tesco Magazine on their site here.

I'll be sharing more photos from our adventures in the next few weeks, now that the blog is live over there.

You can also use their Roadtrip planner, wherever you are in the UK.

Paper Lampshades, Serious Nostalgia

When I was little I had a paper lampshade of a hot air balloon. I can still picture it, blue with a rainbow on the side. This Spaceboy paper lampshade from DotCom Gift Shop seems to be a hit with my son. We've put it up in his room and the verdict is,  "that's sooooo cool".

My Parma Violets Inspired Lloyds Pharmacy Haul

I've been after a scent that smells like Parma Violet sweets for a while, and tried a few eBay handmade perfume oils, but they weren't what I was looking for. I did a bit of research on fragrance blogs and the noses pointed towards YSL Parisienne being a close match.

Lloyds Pharmacy had invited me to browse their beauty and make-up section on their online store, so I picked out a bottle in their fragrance sale. It was £33.99 instead of £49.99, not bad! There's also free shipping if you spend over £35.

It definitely has notes of Parma Violets (notes! Get me, the perfume blogger over here!) but isn't quite sweet enough to seal the deal and become my life long fragrance.

I picked out some other violet themed beauty items, Nivea's Double Effect spray & roll on deodorants, and a cute little Max Factor Mini Nail Polish. Why not see if your favourite perfume is on offer?
