Where to buy that beautiful Vintage Ladybird Book Handmade Goods

I contacted the seller of the bunting from the earlier post. She's Jenny Warner, and if you'd like to keep an eye on her auctions, her username on eBay is maille3.

Jenny will be listing similar items soon, and linked me to her flickr which is the equivalent of retro collector porn! Just look at the snapshot I've included of her 'green items' collection. A great example that kitsch can be done tastefully, and doesn't need to be as tacky as my home!

Vintage Ladybird Book Bunting

About 2 years ago in our old house, I printed out and framed half a dozen images from the old Peter & Jane Ladybird learn to read books.

Since that time Ladybird have released a selection of aprons & cake tins with their iconic illustrations, which can't fail to warm even the most cynical heart with their hefty dose of nostalgia.

Currently on eBay, this inventive seller has used an actual original Ladybird book to make a string of indoor bunting. I bid up to £14 before I gave up, and the auction is still going, so she is onto a money spinner there.

I've decided instead to make my own; time to eBay for some old Ladybird books.
