1970's cook book photography. Long before the 'food porn' of modern celebrity chef tomes, there were St.Michael books filled with glossy photos of whole fish on brown plates, prawn cocktails & unappetising flans in orange bake wear. I honestly don't know if at the time, these images constituted what was considered aspirational cooking, but they've always turned my stomach. Saying that, I've bought this tray with a lovely example of this photography for my own home.
