Four-piece Ceramic Cactii Bar Set

A jaw-dropping moment at the car boot sale this morning when I spotted these beauties.
They aren't vintage, but I adore cactii kitsch, already owning a light-up one & a handknitted cactus.

The lady parting with them said she got them when she lived in the US. I'm guessing the large one is to be used as a cookie jar, the small one with the spoon for sugar, the other two are salt & pepper shakers. They are ideal for the top of the boat bar.

I'd been after one of these for a while now... did I blog about it before? Maybe I did, or my brother just read my mind, because this was another of his choice birthday presents for me.

I think anything made giant-sized is definitely kitsch.

Boat Bar Display Grumble

The boat bar's little shelf is giving me gyp! Trying to make a display with gaudy, neon plastic flowers (from St. George's Market) but they won't sit right.

Everything in there I've blogged before, but just showing how I've put things together. I'll most likely change it over time as I find tiki treasures and cocktail accessories.

Not sure of the age of this charity shop buy. It could have been made in the last few years, or be 1970's, who knows?
My old rockabilly loving roots drew me to buy it for the boat bar anyway.
