Faux Taxidermied Flamingo
/
This was an amazing find. UK high street store Accessorize were using these flamingo props as window dressing this spring. Monsoon & Accessorize operate a policy of selling on window props if customers enquire about them. I put my name down for one of Monsoon Forestside's three flamingoes six weeks back, and returned to collect it today. I've only ever seen one real taxidermy flamingo on eBay, and it was a small fortune, so I'm chuffed.
Bargain Metal Lawn Flamingoes
/
Not quite the plastic lawn flamingoes of true kitsch, but at £1 each, these garden ornaments currently on sale in Pound World, are great value. Reproductions of the real trailer park flamingoes of the 50's sell for £20 or so a pair on eBay. My mum bought me some as a housewarming gift, but I keep the good ones indoors in a plant pot. Last photo also shows a solar powered tulip light, which can be bought in PoundStretcher for £1.99 each in red, blue, yellow, white, purple & blue.
Original Castle Grayskull
/
Collectable vintage toys are a genre all their own, and not one I dip into often.
Spotted a He-Man Castle Grayskull at the weekly car boot sale for £3 and decided I needed it for the cabinet. It's in halves, but apart from that the stickers are in great condition and it looks the part. Not sure about the arrangement of bits and pieces, but pretty pleased that the front half fits nicely in behind the glass.

Wild West Cactus
/
Have myself a little wild west corner going on now, and found an unusual cactus to go nicely with it.
Real Wooden iPhone Case
/
I had a tacky leopard print casing for the past year, very necessary to have a wrap around shell for an iPhone if you've a toddler handling it. Needed a new one, so opted for a cheaper, knock off, but still genuine wooden iWood casing. Slides together beautifully at the back to encase the iPhone in real cherry wood.
