Cat in The Hat Flower Pot

I love all things Dr Seuss, and bought my son all the 50th anniversary activity books last year in a bargain shop.

I've used the larger stickers to decorate his Ikea chair, and my new flower pot.

Planting watermelon again this year, and tomatoes, nobbly gherkins and peppers.

Lucienne Day Print Tissue Box

UK bargain shops PoundLand & PoundWorld have a lot of future kitsch on offer. Things that are horribly tacky and will no doubt be lusted after in twenty years time.

I found a rare classic kitsch print poking out of the gaudy tissue box shelf. I would pay a fiver for a cardboard box of tissues with this design on it, so I feel stupidly excited that I can get them in PoundLand.

Kitsch Plans with Crafty Belfast

I've a secret to share with fellow Northern Irish readers. Belfast has a magical, kitsch treasure trove, right in the City Centre, that you might not have found yet.

Crafty Belfast is a vault of curiosities, local artwork, antiquities & unique fashion pieces. The store on Wellington Place also homes The Manor Tearooms serving local delights such as toasted Veda. Further down you'll find their hair salon, and nestled at the back is an art gallery showcasing Belfast's underground artists.

Overseeing all this madness on a daily basis is Emma Gilles, who has kindly invited me to help style a kitsch photoshoot in store this week.
She has a very cool theme in mind, which I will reveal in upcoming posts. I'm very excited to be asked to help out putting the kitsch touches to the shoot. The final results will be part of the Crafty Belfast launch for their kitsch crafts & clothing.
